General: This purpose of this blog is to keep you informed about what is going on in Mr. Surpris' 7th grade Science class this year in the Academy of Global, American, and Community Connections at IS 68. This site will broadcast weekly announcements including the class' quote of the week (Q.O.T.W.).
For information pertaining to classroom calendar, homework assignments, classroom resources (e.g., downloadable files), and grades, please go to the classroom website.
Curriculum: This year our class will be using an integrated/spiral curriculum devised by the Department of Education that covers all the primary natural sciences; namely, biology, physical science (i.e., chemistry and physics) and geology. My students and I will begin our journey by looking at the geology of our planet and end with the biology of various living organisms including humans.
Our class theme for the 2009-2010 academic year is "Change & Equilibrium". My goal is to help my students understand how nature maintains balance while going through various changes.
